Kolpotoru’s Bharatanatyam recital concludes at Chhayanaut

Noted dance school Kolpotoru organised a three-day (December 2-4) Bharatanatyam recital, titled Rongarpon 2019 at the main auditorium of Chhayanaut.

Noted dance school Kolpotoru organised a three-day (December 2-4) Bharatanatyam recital, titled Rongarpon 2019 at the main auditorium of Chhayanaut.

The event, featuring an array of dance performances by three promising dance artistes, Shuddha Srimoyee Das, Shammy Akter and Zuairiyah Mouli, on every other day, concluded on December 4. Lubna Marium, Principal of Kolpotoru, welcomed all at the inaugural programme.

On the concluding day, Zuairiyah Mouli started off the recital with a presentation of Pushpanjali and Allaripu. She later performed several Bharatanatyam pieces including Varnam, Devarnama, Bhajan and a Thillana, set on Ragam Amritavarshini and Adi thalam. It was a composition of Sri Madurai Muralidharan.

The dance recital was presented every day with live Carnatic music performances by Smt Kirti Ramgopal (nattuvangam), Shri Nandakumar Unnikrishnan (vocal support) Shri P Janardhana Rao (mridangam) and Shri Nithish Kankal (flute).
