My children – Arib and Arisha – are growing fast, and it's like a dream coming true. There have been some changes in my life after becoming a father. I have become very much of a family man now. I used to be a bohemian in my youth, but I'm more grounded now, and it has happened because of my children. In my long career span, I have spent my time with theatre, TV plays and films but spending time with my children feels like the best experience. I and Bipasha really believe in their freedom. We just want to see them be well educated and good human beings, who will do something good for the country.

I'm seeing many changes in myself after becoming father. I led a casual life with a careless attitude even after marriage; I would go to shoots and did not return for four-five days. But now I try my best to avid outdoor shootings. This is a big change, and it has been possible because of my son Shuddho's love and affection to me. If I'm in Dhaka, I accompany him to school every morning and then leave for shooting. I don't get to see him often because of work, and often by the time I get home he is asleep. If he is happy about something I did, he leaves a thank you note on a paper and leaves it for me; sometimes he also jots down things he wants from me (laughs). My son also tries to follow how I walk and talk; I don't know why he does it, but it's very gratifying in a way. Suddho is a constant source of strength for me. I have a long way to go for him.

There has been drastic change in my life goals since I became a father. Even after my marriage, I did not think too hard about my future, but now I am way more serious about planning our future. A sense of responsibility has developed in me. I used to think 'Why do fathers worry so much?' but now I know. I am constantly thinking how I can give my son Ayyash a better life. Whether I am in the country or abroad, I am always thinking about him. It's a special feeling to see him grow up in front of my eyes. I want him to grow up a good human being, that's all. I wish all fathers a blessed Father's Day.
