On this day one year ago, we lost Tazin Ahmed, one of the most beloved actors of the Bangladeshi entertainment industry. She completed her post-graduation in Mass Communication and Journalism from University of Dhaka.

On this day one year ago, we lost Tazin Ahmed, one of the most beloved actors of the Bangladeshi entertainment industry. She completed her post-graduation in Mass Communication and Journalism from University of Dhaka.

Starting out her career in 1996, Tazin made her mark in many fields – ranging from television and theatre to journalism, writing, anchoring and directing. She was a part of Theatre (Aarambag), Natyojon and Aranyak Natyadal. The actor last appeared in the tele-fictions, Bideshi Para and Neer Khoje Gangchill.

“It is disheartening that Tazin lost her life at such a young age,” says Mohan Khan, the director of Neer Khoje Gangchill. “She was a wonderful actor and human being.”

Noted thespian Mamunur Rashid spoke about Tazin’s memorable performance in the play, Mayur Shinghashon, a production of Aranyak Natyadal, the theatre company he spearheads. He stated that she was a dedicated actor who loved performing on the stage.

“Tazin was one of my favourite co-actors,” says Mir Sabbir, who worked with her in Noashal. “I will always have immense respect for her as an artiste.”
