Metlife and Sisimpur launch new campaign
MetLife Foundation and Sesame Workshop Bangladesh, the non-profit educational organisation behind Sisimpur, announced the launch of a new initiative in Bangladesh called “Dream, Save, Do: Financial Empowerment for Families” yesterday. Part of a global multimedia programme aimed at helping young children and their parents acquire healthy financial skills and behaviors, says a press release. The initiative provides engaging content featuring muppets from Sisimpur, the Bangladeshi version of Sesame Street, with effective strategies for spending, saving, sharing, and donating.
The launch event, held at Bengal Multimedia Studio in the capital's Tejgaon was attended by US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Bernicat; USAID Bangladesh Mission Director Janina Jaruzelski; Cultural Affairs Minister Assaduzzaman Noor; State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki; Chairman of MetLife Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar Md. Nurul Islam; Director of Financial Empowerment (Asia) at MetLife Foundation Krishna Thacker, and representatives of various non-profit organisations who work on early childhood development in Bangladesh.
