Nipun’s initiatives to help people in need
The coronavirus pandemic has shut down major film, television and theatrical productions and big festivals in the country.
Amid the crisis, National Award-winning actor Nipun made donations to associations for cameramen and make-up artistes. She is concerned about the shift workers of the film and television industries, who live from hand to mouth.
She also donated towards food aid for underprivileged communities, reaching out to nearly 300 people so far.
Moreover, Nipun recently took an initiative to help the security officers at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation. There are 18 different organisations associated with the film industry, and the security workers are part of an organisation as well. They have been provided with individual cards. "Through the cards, they can collect proper aid for up to one month. I am trying my best to help the security workers, as they are an integral part of our industry," says the actor.
The artiste has also been feeding stray dogs around her neighbourhood regularly, taking the necessary precautions, for quite some time now. For the last few years, she has been managing an orphanage and a madrasah, established by her father in their village.
