Noted actor S M Mohsin no more

Ekushey Padak-winning actor and theatre activist S M Mohsin passed away at around 9:30 am today at the capital’s BIRDEM General Hospital. The news was confirmed by S A Haque Alik, General Secretary, Directors’ Guild Bangladesh.

S M Mohsin had recently tested positive for Covid-19.

He was honoured with the Ekushey Padak in 2020, in recognition of his commendable contribution to the entertainment industry. He was also given the Honorary Fellow Award by Bangla Academy in 2018. His silver screen outings include "Chitra Nodir Pare" and "Brihannala".

The actor, who had been acting for more than a decade, worked at Shilpakala Academy and also taught at Jahangirnagar University.
