Noted writer Ali Imam hospitalised

Noted writer and television anchor Ali Imam is currently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhaka. He was rushed to the hospital from Bangladesh Medical College Hospital yesterday, after his condition deteriorated. He is suffering from breathing problems and pneumonia. Ali Imam Foundation Secretary Touhidul Islam confirmed the news to The Daily Star.

Ali Imam has more than 600 books to his credit. He received the Bangla Academy Award for his writing. He also served as the general manager of Bangladesh Television (BTV).

He was the anchor of "Hello Apnake Bolchhi", which is noted as the first live show of the country.
