‘Poncho-Kobir Gaan’ staged in Pabna

Gonoshilpi, the leading cultural organisation of Pabna, staged a musical show paying tribute to five leading composers of Bangla (known as the Poncho-Kobi) at the Bonomali institute in Pabna recently.

Gonoshilpi, the leading cultural organisation of Pabna, staged a musical show paying tribute to five leading composers of Bangla (known as the Poncho-Kobi) at the Bonomali institute in Pabna recently.

A discussion took place on the occasion, reverberating the life and literary work of as Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, revolutionary composers Rajani Kanta Sen, Atul Prasad and Dijendra Lal.

“Each of the five leading composers contributed to the enrichment of Bangla literature around the world. These five eminent poets, through their work, encouraged people to fight against colonial realm in Bangla.” Said Professor Shibojit Nag, the President of Pabna Gonoshilpi, said in his inaugural speech.

Highlighting the life and work of the five eminent poets, the speakers pointed out their contribution in love, revolution, ethical value of life and every aspect in literature. The artists of the performed the legendary songs of the five poets on the occasion.
