Printmaking workshop at Bidyapeeth
To enrich and rally the practice of printmaking in Bangladesh and to add a new dimension in promising artists' printmaking practice, Bengal Practice Studio has arranged a printmaking workshop at Shafiuddin Bengal Printmaking Studio, Gyantapas Abdur Razzaq Bidyapeeth in Dhanmondi. Renowned artist Shahid Kabir is conducting the workshop that began on October 13. Kabir is shedding light on the techniques and other aspects of etching, a medium of printmaking.
The participants at the workshop are Fahema Ahmed, Jhoton Chandra Roy, Maruf Adnan, Rafiqul Islam, Nazia Qayum, Rashida Aktar, Sanjida Kalam Kakoly, Shakila Aktar, Sheikh Farhana Parveen Tumpa, Sumit Chakraborty and Tanjima Tabassum Easha. They were selected through an open call.
Apart from that, noted artists Monirul Islam, Rokeya Sultana, Anisuzzaman, Ashit Mitra and Jafrin Gulshan are taking part in the workshop as guest artists.
The workshop will continue from till October 13-17 and from October 21-22 from 10am to 5pm.
Bengal Foundation has organised the workshop as part of its ongoing Visual Arts Programme Department's education, workshop, art criticism, seminar, artist residency, art related discussion and research projects.
