'Qasida of Dhaka' wins Best Documentary award at Indus Valley International Film Festival

Qasida of Dhaka, directed by Anarya Murshid, won Best Documentary at the Indus Valley International Film Festival in Delhi. The documentary is produced by Bangladhol, a company under EBS Group. Selected films from South Asian countries have been screened online from August 1 to August 9, at the event. Manjurul Islam Megh was the festival's Bangladesh coordinator.

Many noted filmmakers have won awards in different categories, including director Nandita Das in Best Biopic (Manto) and Vishal Bharadwaj in Best Director (Pataakha). Nawazuddin Siddiqui won the Best Actor award for his performance in Manto.

  "There are so many folk traditions in our country like the Qasida that we may not be able to retrieve," said Murshid. "Thanks to Bangladhol, for encouraging me to make the film."

 Jayanto Chattopadhyay narrates the Qasida of Dhaka. Rassell Abedin Taj is the cinematographer of the documentary, while Anoy Sohag is the editor and Prince Shuvo is the music director.
