“Rogue One” trailer shows the first rebels

The first trailer of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” has hit the web. Anticipation has been building up for Gareth Edwards' spinoff tale of a group of rebels working to steal plans for the Death Star. Felicity Jones is seen in the thick of the action in the enthralling, action-packed first look, and fans are ecstatic.

In a first super short glimpse released earlier yesterday, a new kind of stormtroopers was in view, but the trailer, released later, did not show muchmore of it. Timeline-wise, it seems that “Rogue One” will take place between “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith” and “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope”. George Lucas originally conceived of the story, and that it's one of several Star Wars stories not tied to the Skywalkers. It also takes place during the same time period as “Star Wars Rebels”, but apparently navigating that narrative isn't something that the Disney and Lucasfilms are particularly concerned about. For what it's worth, the movie might also feature a Han Solo cameo.

Apart from Felicity Jones, “Rogue One” stars Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, and Jiang Wen, and is set to hit theatres on December 16th.
