Sabina Yasmin to receive Feroza Begum Commemorative Gold Medal

To pay tribute to legendary singer Feroza Begum, Dhaka University has launched a musical award named after her. On behalf of Dhaka University's Department of Music, Vice Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique will give away the award, says a press release.

The ceremony will be held at 4 pm on July 28 on the birthday of the singer at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University. A press conference is to be held today, July 26 at 3pm in Dhaka University's Business Studies Faculty conference room.

The press conference will be conducted by AAMS Arefin Siddique, and will be accompanied by Feroza Begum Commemorative Gold Medal Trust fund sponsor and chairperson of ACI Foundation M. Anis Ud Dowla. Professor Begum Akhtar Kamal, Dean of Faculty of Arts; Professor Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya, Chairperson of Dance Department, Dr. Leena Tapashi Khan, Chairperson of Music Department, Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, Dean of Faculty of Business, singer Susmita Anis and Feroza Begum's family will also be present at the event.
