Shadhona’s online production ‘Moksha’ goes live today at 8 pm
The cultural centre Shadhona is arranging an online production, titled Moksha, to celebrate International Dance Day 2020. A video, featuring performances by renowned dance gurus, will be premiered on social media today at 8 pm from the official page of Shadhona on Facebook and YouTube.
The event will showcase dance recitals by artistes of Shadhona, along with recitation and instrumental music by internationally acclaimed artistes from India. There will also be special messages from Artistic Director of Shadhona Lubna Marium, eminent Manipuri dance exponent Guru Kalavati Devi, Manipuri dance exponent Guru Bimbavati Devi, Kathak dance exponent Guru Ashim Bandhu Bhattacharya, Odishi dance exponent Guru Sharmila Biswas, and Kathak dance exponent Guru Maitreyee Pahari in the video. Shadhona is grateful to all the legendary dance gurus and guest artistes for their co-operation and support.
The moto of Moksha is 'Let dance reign, let our path be of glory and gain.' Sweety Das Chowdhury has designed the concept and choreographed for the production. Zuairiyah Mouli (Bharatnatyam) and Hasan Ishtiaque Imran (Kathak) have also directed dances for it.
The participating dance artistes for the presentation include Sweety Das Chowdhury, Zuairiyah Mouli, Hasan Ishtique Imran, Anandita Khan, Ariful Islam Arnob, Taskin Anha, Shammy Akter, Alka Das Pranti, Aviroop H Sharma, Rubaiat Mehzabin Anika and Ahorna Sharma.
Vidwan Sri Janardhan Rao (mridangam), Thingom Brojen Kumar Sinha (pung), Gyan Singh (tabla) and Guru Bijaya Kumar Barik (Pakhawaj) have instrumentally supported for the production. Taskin Anha has edited the video, while Arthy Ahmed has designed the poster for Moksha.
