Halum, Tuktuki, Ikri and Shiku from Sisimpur, the Bangladeshi version of Sesame Street, are some of the most popular characters among children across the country. The show celebrated their 15th anniversary this year.

Sisimpur will be aired on Bangladesh Television every day of the week from October 1, on Friday and Saturday at 10:10 am and from Sunday to Thursday at 5:10 pm.

Through BTV, it is possible to reach most of the audiences across the country. The Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MOWCA) has been the companion of Sisimpur from the beginning of their journey. The decision of airing Sisimpur seven days of the week is a continuation of that endeavour.

Sisimpur episodes are based on research and created considering children's cognitive development. This is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MOWCA) and Sesame Workshop Bangladesh, the organisation which produces Sisimpur, with an aim to promote intellectual, social, emotional and physical learning activities for children.

The programme is supported by USAID and the broadcasting is supported by the MOWCA.
