"Syed Mohidul Islam Smaran Utsab 2020" to commence from December 25

To commemorate the legacy of playwright, actor and director Syed Mohidul Islam, a festival titled Syed "Mohidul Islam Smaran Utsab 2020", will commence from December 25 at National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA). The event is organised by Batikrom Nattyagoshthi.

To commemorate the legacy of playwright, actor and director Syed Mohidul Islam, a festival titled Syed "Mohidul Islam Smaran Utsab 2020", will commence from December 25 at National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).  The event is organised by Batikrom Nattyagoshthi.

On the occasion on his 18th death anniversary, discussions and various culture activities, including musical performances, dance recitals and theatrical plays will be organised from 6-9pm at the festival.

Renowned thespian and television personality will be honoured with the Syed Mohidul Islam Padak this year. Theatre researcher and the founder General Secretary of the Theatre, Archives Babul Biswas and mime artiste Nadezda Farzana, along with actor and director Syed Shuvro will receive the Mancha Bandhu Award.

The Jugol (Duo) awards will be given to Saju Khadem and Proitee Haque from Nagorik Nattyango, Kazi Sheila and Kazi Chopol from Dhaka Padatik, and Ranu Ara and Shahin Ahmed from Kheyali Nattyagoshthi.

 The 43rd production of the play "Shohobash" directed by Noushin Islam Disha will also be staged at the event.
