Talented dancers to perform in Nritya Nandan’s ‘Parampara’ at Chhayanaut today
Renowned dance school Nritya Nandan has arranged an evening of classical dance programme, titled Parampara, at the main auditorium of Chhayanaut Sangskriti Bhaban today at 6:45pm. The director of the school, eminent dancer and choreographer Sharmila Banerjee, has conceptualised this event.
The featured performers are a bunch of bright, young, talented classical practitioners of Bangladesh who have worked very hard in the past few years to establish themselves as strong classical dancers in Bangladesh.
Sudeshna Swayamprabha will perform Manipuri while Maria Farih Upama will present Bharatnatyam at the event. Moumita Jaya and Hasan Ishtiaque Imran will perform Kathak in the evening. All the featured dancers, as ICCR scholars, completed their Masters in Dance together from Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata in 2018.
Beginning their dance education from their teachers in Bangladesh, they went through further training under renowned dancers, both in Bangladesh and India. These young dancers are now carrying forward the tradition of classical dance in Bangladesh. Nritya Nandan strongly feels that it is their responsibility to encourage such young dancers in their journey through such initiatives.
