Tauquir Ahmed set to start production for new film
National Award winning director and renowned actor Tauquir Ahmed is set to start the production of his new feature film. Although the mahurat is soon to be arranged, the name of the film is yet to be finalised.
"The mahurat of the film will be arranged soon and we plan to disclose further details at the event," shares Tauquir Ahmed. "Currently we are very busy with the production preparations."
Zakia Bari Mamo and Pori Moni are set to appear in the lead roles while other actors are not yet finalised. "We are still working on the selection process and we hope to finalise everything soon," adds Tauquir. "We plan to abide by the proper health safety guidelines during the shoot."
The script of the film is also written by the acclaimed director. Tauquir plans to start the shoot this month at different locations in Dhaka.
Tauquir Ahmed's directorial debut film, critically acclaimed, "Joyjatra" was based on the Liberation war and bagged several National Film Awards. Tauquir Ahmed went on to gain further praise with films, "Rupkothar Golpo", "Daruchini Dip", "Halda", "Oggyatonama" and "Fagun Haway".
"The film 'Oggyatonama' reflected on the struggles and woes of foreign workers while 'Fagun Haway' was based on the Language Movement," shares the director. "I make my films based on different stories around us, and this one presents a fresh new story and perspective."
Tauquir Ahmed started his career in the 90s and since then he has been a popular name in the entertainment industry. He made his directorial debut with the television drama, "Tomar Boshonter Dine," went on to direct several successful television productions.
