For the first time in history, an eight-member team from Bangladesh will be walking down the red carpet at Cannes this year. Starting from July 6, this year's Cannes festival will end on July 18.

Lead actor Azmeri Haque Badhon and director Abdullah Mohammad Saad, along with five other team members reached Paris on June 25. Sound engineer Sayba, colorist Chinmoy, production designer Uzzal, cinematographer Tuhin, and executive producer Babu are currently present from the team. Co-producer Mohajon is scheduled to join the team later.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the physical presence of the team was uncertain, until the very last minute.  After reaching Paris, the team is currently in quarantine, residing at a villa in the outskirts of Paris. The ten-day quarantine period will end on July 4, afterwards, the team will join the main festival at Nice on July 6.

"We are having the time of our lives here", said Badhon to The Daily Star over the phone. "The crew is bonding amongst themselves, while cooking rice and chicken. This whole thing is a big achievement for us."

The film, Rehana Maryam Noor, will premiere at Cannes, on July 7 & 8, though the official announcement of the schedule is not yet confirmed. The RMN team will be present throughout the festival and the team is scheduled to board a flight to Dhaka on July 18.

Last night, Azmeri Haque Badhon hosted a live video on Facebook from Paris, sharing the team's journey en route to France. "I am missing my co-actors and other members of our team, without each and every member, the film wouldn't have been such a success and everyone deserves recognition for their hard work," shares Badhon in the live video. Other members of the team joined Badhon, sharing their personal experiences.
