Television programmes on National Mourning Day 2020
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and 16 of his other family members were assassinated in a military coup on August 15, 1975. On the occasion of National Mourning Day this year, top television channels of the country are set to release a wide range of programmes.
Produced by Syed Sajedur Rahman Firoze and written and directed by Noman Robin, a special documentary, Hajar Bochorer Sreshtho Bangali, will be aired at 4 pm tomorrow on Deepto TV.
Noted singer and composer Shelu Barua will perform in a special musical programme on Bangladesh Television tomorrow, after the 10 pm English news. The featured song, Tomar jonno kata pristhay likhi bolo kabyo, dedicated to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, is written by renowned lyricist Ferdous Hossain Bhuiyan. Shelu Barua has composed and arranged the music for the song.
Conceptualised and presented by Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu, a special episode of Mrittunjoyi Mujib will air at 6:10 pm tomorrow on Channel i.
Directed and hosted by Shykh Seraj, a special episode, Mati O Manusher Mohan Neta, will air at 9:40 pm tomorrow on Channel i.
Bangabandhuke Nibedito Pongktimala, a special recitation programme featuring Mahidul Islam, Asharaful Alam and Nayla Kakoli among others will air at 10:30 pm tomorrow on Maasranga Television.
A special documentary on Bangabandhu, Roktakto 15 August, hosted by Rashed Ahmed will air at 7:30 pm tomorrow on Maasranga Television.
Hosted by Joy E Mamun and directed by Mukaddem Babu, talk show, Proshongo 15 August, 75, will air at 8 pm tomorrow on ATN Bangla. Dr Kamal Naser Chowdhury, Mohammad Abdur Razzak MP and Sadeka Halim will participate in the programme.
Directed by Sraboni Ferdaus and written by Shahid Rahman, special television drama, Roktosnato August, featuring Tariq Anam Khan and Runa Khan in lead roles will air at 9 pm tomorrow on ATN Bangla.
The two-episode special programme, Bangabandhu, Nana Borne, Nana Rekhay, will be aired on Duronto Television, today and tomorrow at 5 pm. Presented by Dr Nuzhat Chowdhury and directed by Sumona Siddique, the programme will highlight the life and work of Bangabandhu.
A special talk show with children, Amader Bangabandhu, will be aired on Duronto Television on August 16 at 5 pm. It is presented by Tanveer Haider Chowdhury and directed by Tofail Sarkar. Raima Haque, Mehreen Islam Mugdha, Tridib Sarkar and Linda Bom will participate in this programme.
