Batighar's theatre festival to begin Oct 23

Theatre troupe Batighar will organise a four-day theatre festival at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) from October 23-26. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the festival as chief guest on October 23 evening. Veteran thespian Ramendu Majumdar, Sara Zaker, and BSA director general Liaquat Ali Lucky will attend the inaugural ceremony as special guest. 

Aside from seven plays by seven renowned theatre troupes, the fest will feature folk songs, kobi gaan, gombhira, and performances by Joler Gaan, Meghdol and Shorbonam at the open premises of BSA.

The participating theatre troupes are Nagarik Natya Sampradaya, Aranyak Natya Dal, Agantuk, BotTala, Batighar, Prachyanat and Prangonemore.  

On the opening evening, Nagarik Natya Sampradaya will stage their much-acclaimed production "Dewan Gazir Kissa" at the Experimental Theatre Hall.
