Sara Zaker and Enamul Haq to be honoured
Celebrated theatre personalities Dr. Enamul Haq and Sara Zaker will receive the Syed Badruddin Hossain Memorial Award 2016 for their outstanding contribution to the country's theatre scenario.
Padatik Natya Sangsad will confer the award on April 8, as part of their ongoing five-day theatre festival, which is running at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).
The award giving ceremony will be held at the National Theatre Hall of BSA. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will give away the award to the luminaries. BSA director general Liaquat Ali Lucky will attend the ceremony as special guests along with veteran thespians Mamunur Rashid and Ramendu Majumdar.
Padatik confers the award every year on pioneering theatre personalities for their contribution to the sector.
Several leading theatre personalities including Mamunur Rashid, Shimul Yousuff, M Hamid, Ramendu Majumdar, Ferdousi Majumdar, Nasiruddin Yousuff, Ataur Rahman, Keramot Maola, Syed Shamsul Haq and Asaduzzaman Noor have previously received the award.
