He has been acting for over 15 years, and has several accolades to his name. Having started with the tele-fiction 'Bishkata', he has since become a regular face in Bangladeshi Television. The Daily Star catches up with the actor, who talks about his Eid schedule, future plans and more.

How many Eid dramas have you worked on this year?

Honestly, this time around I have worked in the least number of Eid serials in my career: about five or six. I have rejected more than forty scripts this year because I will go for Umrah next month. I have finished shooting for Gham Babu, Stupid and Heeron

We see you direct tele-fictions every year on Eid. Won't you be directing any this time?

I am used to directing three or four tele-fictions every year for the past few years.  Unfortunately, I cannot at this point in time because of the aforementioned reason. However, I will finish my sequels of Baap Beta and Kailla Chor for Gazi Tv and RTV respectively before leaving.

How difficult is directing a tele-fiction, compared to acting?

The fact that I accumulated fourteen years of acting experience before trying to direct is testament to the fact that it is indeed very difficult. You see, an actor just acts; however, a director has to have knowledge on all facets of this craft.

What does acting mean to you?

I will simply say that acting is love for me. Today, everyone in Bangladesh knows and loves me as an actor, and I am grateful for it. Everything I have today is because of my identity as an actor, and I would not have received this much recognition if I was not an actor. This is why I'll always say that acting is my first love.
