Anwar Cement-Channel i Bijoy Mela held

Channel i, in association with Anwar Cement, arranged a celebratory 'Bijoy Mela' on the occasion of Victory Day at its Tejgaon office premises yesterday. The grand celebration saw attendance of Freedom Fighters, members of Shadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, Shadhin Bangla Football Dol and other members of society.

Civil Aviation Minister Rashed Khan Menon inaugurated the fair.

The fair featured seven monuments in honour of the seven Bir Sreshtho. The stalls highlighted images, documentaries and films on the Liberation War.

Tapan Mahmud, Abul Jabbar, Indramohan Rajbongshi, Rukhsana Saba and Shahnaz Bely presented songs, along with Ferdous Ara-led students of Sursaptak, and artistes of Khude Gaanraj, Sera Kontho and Bangla'r Gaan contests.

Moushumi Barua, Opu Mahfuz and Dilruba Sathi anchored the programmes, which Channel i broadcast live until 1pm.
