Hayat, Sharmili and Dilara: Peerless partners

Dilara Zaman and Sharmili Ahmed are no strangers to Abul Hayat's work, however, for the first time in their careers the trio will act together in a TV play directed by Abul Hayat, where he will also be their co-star. The TV play, titled “Akasher Upore Akash” will be aired on ntv.

Sharmili and Abul Hayat are cast as a married couple whilst Dilara plays the role of Sharmili's sister. Prior to this role, the actresses have a worked together in “Shesh Potro,” a TV play also directed by Abul Hayat.

On working with the veteran actor and director, Ekushey Padak award winning artiste Dilara Zaman commented, “Hayat is a stellar director and has a deep understanding of the issues he portrays in his works. I feel that he is one of the few directors actors can learn many things from.”

 Sharmili Ahmed also remarked, “As a co-star he is a very dear person. However, as a director, he is one of the toughest and will draw the best out of actors. This is what I admire most about him.”

Abul Hayat, who has cast the actors in a good number of his works, said, “As actors they are quite helpful and understand their roles intuitively. I always construct my work in ways to bring out their best characteristics and make the most of their skills. Their performance in this TV play has been stellar.”

“Akasher Upor Akash” is being aired every Monday and Tuesday at 8:15 pm on ntv. The Ekushey Padak award winning director is now busy with new projects, scheduled to be aired during Eid-ul-Azha festivals.
