Nipun in new TV series after five years

National Film Award-winning actress Nipun has been working in the small screen as well, but mostly in single-episode plays. The last time she worked in a TV series was five years ago, in “Red Signal”.
But the talented actress seems ready for a long-time small screen commitment, as she recently began shooting a series, titled “Don”. Zahid Hasan is directing it.
“The story of the series is based in Nepal. Some Bangladeshis escape the country and in to Nepal. That is why we were just in Nepal shooting it,” Nipun told The Daily Star.
The unit will be traveling to Nepal every month to film, according to Nipun. She plays the role of a mafia leader in the series. “I am thoroughly enjoying working in this project,” she says.
Asked if it was hard to get into a TV series after so long, Nipun said “I was a little hesitant at first. But after I got into the groove of it, there was no problem.”
Most of Nipun's work for television in the last few years has been surrounding special occasions. There are some single-episode projects lined up for Eid-ul-Fitr, Nipun adds.
Other than that, Nipun is mostly busy judging Rtv's show “Star Campus”, and doesn't have any upcoming films. “I'm actually more occupied with my business venture… and trying to make some time every month for 'Don',” she said.
