“Shomorpon” on Rtv

To commemorate Victory Day, Rtv is airing a single episode TV play titled “Shomorpon” tonight at 8pm. Helmed by Kaushik Shankar Das and scripted by Mansur Rahman Chanchal, the main cast includes Afran Nisho, Nadia Nodi, Rimi Karim, and more.

In 1971, a remote village in East Pakistan has yet to feel the brunt of the war. However, the local residents witness terrified refugees passing their village to travel to India in order to flee the war. Furqan staunchly believes his village will remain safe, as long as they listen to the military, and holds a meeting to mollify his fellow villagers.

However things take a sinister turn as the Pakistani army reach the village and decide to set up camp. Furqaan, believing to keep his village safe, resorts to dark deeds.
