Celebrating the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence, a ten-day programme, “Mujib Chirantan”, was organised at the capital’s National Parade Square from March 17 to 26.

Today marks the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence. Keeping that in mind, the final day of “Mujib Chirantan” began with the theme, ‘Shadhinotar Ponchash Bochor O Ogrogotir Shubornorekha’.

“Sphulingo”, a film directed by Tauquir Ahmed, is set to release at 35 theatres across the country today, marking the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence.

On March 12, “Elephant in the Room”, an award-winning art installation by renowned Bangladeshi visual artist Kamruzzaman Shadhin, was launched at the Dubai Design District (D3), organised by Durjoy Bangladesh Foundation, which works to promote South Asian art internationally in association with Art Dubai. D3 is a hub of inspiration for creatives, artists, and designers. It will exhibit this participatory artwork in its walkaways for a month-long display till April 12, 2021.

Celebrated musician Samarjit Roy’s new song, “Violiner Shohor” was released on his YouTube channel recently. The number, composed by renowned musician Kumar Bishwajit, is written by Mizanur Rahman Saami.

The fourth day of "Mujib Chirantan", the ten-day celebration of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence, was held at National Parade Square yesterday. The theme of the day was, “Tarunner Alok Shikha”. As the theme suggests, the fourth day of the programme celebrated the youth, featuring prominent young individuals from different sectors – from the arts to science and technology.

Zakia Bari Mamo came into the limelight with Lux Channel i Superstar. Since then, she has carved a space for herself in the fields of television and films, winning the National Film Award for her role in “Daruchini Dwip”(2007).

An art exhibition titled ‘Futures Beyond the Self’, a multidisciplinary artiste engagement is currently underway at Kala Kendra in Mohammadpur. The exhibition was inaugurated on March 10.
