“Hidden Beauty”, Khurshid Saleem's 80th exhibition, will run at Gallery Chitrak till October 22..

The inauguration of ‘Doob 2.0- a miniaturesque art exhibition’ took place at the EMK Center, Dhanmondi 27, on September 24, 2022. Initiated by Azizee Fawmi Khan, Doob 2.0 is an attempt to point out the changes in our biodiversity caused by gradual urbanisation.

In collaboration with the German Embassy, Kala Kendra inaugurated “Transient”, Aneek Mustafa Anwar’s first solo photography exhibition, on September 23, 2022. The ceremony was graced by the presence of His Excellency Achim Troster, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany. Photographer and Principal of Counter Foto- A Center for Visual Arts, Saiful Huq Omi also attended the event as a guest. Curated by Wakilur Rahman, the exhibition started off after the valuable speeches from the guests.

The inauguration ceremony for “Ephemeral Reflection” took place in Arcadia Arts, a contemporary art gallery in Banani on September 23.

Ghulam Murshed Mohd. Ehsanul Karim (GMME Karim), one of the finest photographers in Bangladesh, provides spectators and photography enthusiasts the opportunity to transcend the barriers of time, and revisit the past through his solo photography exhibition, "Random Harvests", which is currently being exhibited at the Bengal Shilpalay.

Drik Gallery has celebrated its 33rd founding anniversary with the inauguration of Indian photographer Amiya Tafadar’s solo exhibition “The Long Journey Home”. The exhibition, featuring heart-wrenching photographs captured during the War of Liberation, 1971– was inaugurated on September 4, 2022. This open-for-all exhibition will run at Drik Gallery from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM every day till September 16, 2022.

Poignant lines on wishful death

Bengal Arts Programme launched the exhibition “Sanghatir Samayalap”, displaying the phenomenal artworks of legendary artists who contributed to shape the cultural, and political backdrop of this country. The exhibition was inaugurated in Quamrul Hassan Exhibition Hall, Bengal Shilpalay, on August 3, 2022.

“Noverar Khoje” is an exhibition that has been organised with the purpose of enlightening the new generation about the legendary sculptor and painter, Novera Ahmed. The 17 female artists, who are participating in the exhibition, took an initiative to display their works on women empowerment, keeping in mind Novera’s legacy.

S M Saha Anisuzzaman Faroque’s first solo sculpture and painting exhibition, “Gentle Grass" was inaugurated at La Galerie, Alliance Francaise de Dhaka on August 19.

The inauguration of “City Subconscious: An Exhibition by Aananda Antahleen (A Ghartera Project)” took place in Dwip Gallery, Lalmatia, on Friday, August 19 at 5:30 pm. The event was hosted by Ghartera, an ever-evolving art space that goes against the typically restrictive approach to art. Curated by Doito Bonotulshi, Ata Mojlish, and Kazi Tahsin Agaz Apurbo, this exhibition is a visual journal of emerging photographer Aananda Antahleen.

The inauguration of “Anonymous-2: A Visual Art Exhibition” took place at Kala Kendra, Iqbal road in Mohammadpur on August 12. The event was graced by the presence of Dr Kirsten Hackenbroch, the director of Goethe Institute, Bangladesh. The curator, Wakilur Rahman in his welcoming speech talked about his initiative to work with artists regardless of their status.

The opening ceremony of Liakat Ali’s 8th solo painting exhibition was held on August 5 at La Galerie, Alliance Francaise de Dhaka. The exhibition was graced by the presence of His Excellency Ito Naoki, the Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh, as the chief guest, with Professor Mostafizul Haque taking on the role of special guest for the event.

Rawyan, a child from the suburbs of Rajshahi, was always fascinated by fiction. Losing her mother during her teenage years and being raised by her father in Dinajpur, Rawyan started developing an affinity towards films and cinematography.

On July 23, Gallery Chitrak held the inauguration ceremony of “Phire Dekha”, Prof Mostafizul Haque’s retrospective solo-painting exhibition. The event was graced by the presence of Education Minister, Dr Dipumoni, as the chief guest, with Lily Islam, a leading Rabindra Sangeet artist of Bangladesh, hosting the event.

“The Colors of Youth”, an exhibition run by Abu Subhan Welfare Trust (ASWT), was inaugurated at the capital’s Saifuddin Shilpalay, recently. The exhibition displayed artworks by underprivileged students from the indigenous communities residing in Bangladesh.
