Bangladesh is a country where an estimated 3.05 physicians per 10,000 population and 1.07 nurses per 10,000 population existed in 2011 (estimates based on MoHFW HRD 2011).

For the women’s movement in Bangladesh, looking ahead can sometimes be a depressing task—the challenges and obstacles that we face are numerous, to say the least.

Today, Bangladesh's human rights situation will be reviewed at the United Nations' Human Rights Council in Geneva, under the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism. The UN Human Rights Council carries out UPR review every four and a half years and this is the third-cycle review for Bangladesh.
