A treasure trove brought back home
Renowned artist and famous gallerist Goutam Chakraborty collected thirteen valuable early works by eminent Bangladeshi artist-sculptor Hamiduzzaman Khan from England, around three months back. The original watercolours, done in the period from 1963 to 1969 by Khan were first exhibited in Chittagong Club, and later taken to Scotland, when he was in Edinburgh for treatment at E. R. I. following brain surgery.

Artist trio set for Osaka show
Three eminent Bangladeshi artists -- Jamal Ahmed, Mohammad Iqbal and Mustapha Khalid Palash -- are set to display their paintings in a group exhibition titled AKA DOT to be held in Osaka, Japan from June 10. An Ode to Benaras
Bengal Foundation recently launched an audio CD titled An Ode to Benaras, featuring semi-classical music including thumri, dadra, chaiti and kajri by the talented artiste Suchisree Ray. Apart from receiving extensive training in khayal and thumri, Suchisree Ray’s years as a senior disciple of well-known musicologist Pt Kumar Prasad Mukherji propelled her interest in research and experimentation.
