One of the injured is Belal Hossain (44), a worker of the yard while the identity of the other injured who is a scrap buyer was not known.

"At one stage while cutting the pipe for a buyer, suddenly fire engulfed us -- leaving me and the buyer injured," Belal told our correspondent.

"The yard authority arranged primary treatment but I would require better treatment as the burn injury is serious," he added.
