2 killed as car hits parked truck in Savar

Two people were killed and three were injured as a car collided with an onion-laden truck, which was parked beside Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar, this morning.
The deceased were identified as private car passenger Putul Begum (30), from Dhaka's Dohar upazila, and driver Jamal Khan, from Brahmanbaria district.
Sazzad Karim, officer-in-charge (OC) of Savar Highway Police Station, told The Daily Star that the accident occurred in Salehpur area around 6:00am.
The car driver and one of its passengers died on the spot while three other passengers were critically injured, the OC said.
Later, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka for autopsy, he added.
The injured were admitted to Savar Upazila Health Complex, the OC said.
