2 killed in Habiganj road accident

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a CNG-run autorickshaw and a motorcycle in Bahubal upazila of Habiganj district on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway today.

The deceased were identified as Jamir Uddin (40) and Shakil Ahmed Ramim (35) of Tabajkhani village in Baniachong upazila of the district, confirmed Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Masuk Ali.

Police are preparing to send the bodies to the 250-bed Modern District Sadar Hospital morgue in Habiganj for autopsy, he added.

Kamruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Bahubal Model Police Station said, a CNG-run autorickshaw coming from Srimangal collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from Habiganj in the new market area.

Motorcycle rider and pillion were both severely injured and taken to Habiganj Sadar Hospital, later the doctors declared them dead, he added.
