2 killed in Naogaon road accident

Two persons were killed when the motorcycle they were on was hit by a vehicle in Manda upazila of Naogaon last night.

The deceased are Apple Mahmud and Poncha Islam of Badalghat village in the upazila, reports our Natore correspondent.

Locals said the two were returning homes from the upazila's Kusumba area when an unidentified vehicle hit the motorcycle on Naogaon-Rajshahi highway at Bijoypur around 8:30pm.

Shahinur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Manda Police Station, said bus operations on the highway remain suspended following a government instruction amid the pandemic situation.

Police are yet to be confirmed whether the motorbike was hit by a truck or any other vehicle, the OC said.

The bodies were handed over to their families, the police official added.
