Two persons were killed and another was injured as a truck hit a battery-run rickshaw van at Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat this morning.

The deceased were identified as fishermen Jadu Miah (35) and Akbar Ali (34), reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent quoting Sumon Kumar Mohanta, officer-in-charge of Patgram Police Station.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. The truck hit the van killing the two passengers on the spot in Burimari Beltali area on Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway around 8am, the OC said.
The injured van puller was admitted to Patgram Upazila Health Complex.
Police seized the truck but the driver and helper managed to flee the scene, the police official added.
A case was being filed in this connection.
