3 vegetable traders dead after falling from pick-up van in Narayanganj

Three vegetable traders were killed and three others were injured when they fell from a pick-up van after it was hit by a truck on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj early today.

Three vegetable traders were killed and three others were injured when they fell from a pick-up van after it was hit by a truck on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj early today.

The deceased were identified as Kabir Hossain (35), Amir Hossain (40) and Al Mamun (30) of Sonargaon. 

Quoting witnesses, Eyaur Rahman, a sub-inspector of Sonargaon Police Station, said the traders were sitting on vegetables on the pick-up van.

As the truck hit the pick-up van, the trio lost control and fell on the road near Darikandi bus stand around 2:30am.

Six injured vegetable traders were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared three of them dead, the police official said.

Police are trying to arrest the truck driver and helper, the SI said.
