36 illegal structures evicted from Kuakata beach

36 illegal structures have been evicted from Kuakata beach area in Patuakhali.

Executive Magistrate and also the Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Kalapara Upazila Land Administration Jagatbandhu Mandal carried out the eviction drive this noon.

Abdul Aziz, assistant officer of Mahipur Land office, said some 36 illegal structures built in the Kuakata Zero Point area had been removed.

These establishments were built illegally on government khas land, he said, adding that the drive will continue.

Meanwhile, six residential hotel owners in Kuakata have been fined a total of Tk 45,900 for carrying out business activities in defiance of the restrictions imposed on the tourist centres due to the coronavirus pandemic.
