Around 5,000 workers of a tea garden in Habiganj's Chunarughat upazila have been observing an indefinite strike for the fourth consecutive day, demanding removal of the tea garden's manager.

The workers of Nalua tea garden, who brought corruption allegation against its manager Iftekhar Enam, were seen demonstrating outside the garden this morning, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.

Upen Urang, president of the tea workers' association, told The Daily Star that the manager sent around 150 cubic feet of Segun timber out of the garden on May 28.

Besides, he used to misbehave with the workers, he said.

The workers said they will return to work only if Iftekhar Enam is removed from his post.

The manager, however, could not be reached for his comment.
