7-day restrictions on movement: rickshaws, motorbikes dominating Ctg roads

Most shops on the main thoroughfares of Chattogram city remained closed as the weeklong restrictions imposed by the government on transport and public movement started since this morning.

While visiting different points of the city, our Chattogram correspondent found that more than half of small shops on the lanes and by-lanes are open.\

Rickshaws and motorbikes have been dominating on the roads.

Very few public transports were seen plying the roads, including in Bahaddarhat, Muradpur, Chawkbazar, Panchlaish, Rahattarpool and Katalganj.

No patrol police and mobile courts were seen on the roads.

The government issued restrictions yesterday to check the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus.
