Ambulance hits motorcycle, leaving 2 dead in Manikganj

Two people were killed and one was seriously injured when an ambulance hit a motorcycle on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Manikganj Sadar upazila this morning.

Two people were killed and one was seriously injured when an ambulance hit a motorcycle on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Manikganj Sadar upazila this morning.

The deceased were identified as motorcycle rider Abdul Halim, 26, and pillion passenger Dipak Haldar, 25, reports our local correspondent quoting Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Golra Highway Police Station.

The Jashore-bound ambulance carrying a dead body, hit the Dhaka-bound motorcycle head-on in Bhatbaur CNG pump area around 7am, killing Abdul and Dipak on the spot, the OC said.

The ambulance driver Roni Mia was also injured in the accident. He was rushed to Manikganj Sadar Hospital from where he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in serious condition, the OC added.

The bodies were sent to morgue for autopsy. Police seized the motorcycle and ambulance.
