Application deadline for Buet admission test extended till May 3

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) authorities have extended deadline -- till May 3 -- for the application process of admission test for 2020-21 honours academic session due to the lockdown situation.

It was supposed to end at 3:00pm today.

Now, the candidates can submit their application till 3:00pm on May 3.

However, the admission tests schedule will remain unchanged if lockdown is not imposed again.

This decision was made at an emergency meeting of the admission committee today, Prof Dr Khandaker Shabbir Ahmed, chairman of the committee and also Dean of Architecture and Planning, confirmed to The Daily Star.

"We will take the exams on time according to our schedule, maintaining health guidelines. Exam schedule will remain unchanged if lockdown is not imposed again," said Vice Chancellor of BUET Prof Satya Prasad Majumder.

According to an earlier press release, admission seekers will be required to sit for preliminary selection exams, from which candidates will be selected for the final exam scheduled to be held on June 10.

Eligibility list for preliminary admission test, scheduled to be held on May 31 and June 1, will be published on May 5. Eligibility list for the final exam will be released on June 5.

List of selected candidates and waiting list will be published on July 1.
