Arrest of Rozina: university teachers place four-point demand

University Teachers' Network, a platform for private and public university teachers, today issued a statement protesting the harassment and arrest of Prothom Alo senior reporter Rozina Islam.

University Teachers' Network, a platform for private and public university teachers, today issued a statement protesting the harassment and arrest of Prothom Alo senior reporter Rozina Islam.

The statement signed by 100 teachers of various universities and members of the network, presented four demands.

The demands are:

1. Free Rozina Islam immediately and unconditionally.

2. Bring those who harassed Rozina by confining her wrongfully and obstructed her from discharging professional duties to book.

3. Repeal the Official Secrets Act 1923 and Digital Security Act 2018 which are obstacles for investigative journalism and overall freedom of speech.

4. Publish white paper of health ministry's graft.
