Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed the authorities concerned, including the education ministry, to examine whether the situation at present is conducive for reopening educational institutions.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed the authorities concerned, including the education ministry, to examine whether the situation at present is conducive for reopening educational institutions.

The government is considering reopening educational institutions and has decided to assess the situation, Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam said while briefing the reporters after the cabinet meeting held virtually today.

An inter-ministerial meeting will be held by next Sunday or Monday to assess the situation, the Cabinet secretary said.

He added that the prime minister also instructed to give Covid-19 vaccines to teachers, officials and employees before reopening educational institutions.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also asked to ensure safety of resident students before the institutions will reopen.

The institutions remain closed since March 17, 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
