Like BNP-Jamaat, will resist Hefajat too: Hanif

Hefajat-e-Islam will be resisted the same way BNP-Jamaat was in 2013, Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said today.

He was speaking to journalists at the Pabna Circuit House this morning regarding Hefajat's mayhem last weekend.

"When BNP-Jamaat had committed crimes and destructive activities to topple the government in 2013, we faced them strongly and foiled their conspiracy," Hanif said.

"BNP-Jamaat joined Hefajat to carry out mayhem across the country as part of their conspiracy. But the government is aware of this," he said.

Replying to a question over providing patronage to Hefajat, Hanif said the government has given the honour of Qawmi degree so that madrasa students can serve the society.

Later, Hanif joined a programme organised for the inauguration of the statue of Bangabandhu at Pabna University of Science and Technology.
