Bomb-like object found at Gaibandha shop

Police recovered a bomb-like object from an under-construction shop in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha this morning.
Law enforcers are trying to identify who put the object there and why, our Bogura correspondent reports quoting police.
Mehedi Hasan, president of Kamardah Union Krishak League, said he informed police after his younger brother first noticed the object inside his shop at Sherpur village this morning.
Police later rushed to the spot and recovered the object around 9:00am, he said.
AKM Mehedi Hasan, officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj Police Station said a clock, a battery and telephone wire were wrapped with the object.
"We have put it under water and informed the bomb disposal unit in Dhaka," the OC said, adding that it is not possible to confirm whether it is a bomb or not until the experts examine it.
