BSF detains Bangladeshi man at Roumari border in Kurigram

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) last night detained a Bangladeshi man at Roumari border in Kurigram. 

Rashedul Islam (25) was detained near the International Main Pillar 1056 at Chhatkaraibari border of Dantbhanga union of the upazila, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 35 Battalion Company Commander of Dantbhanga Camp Subedar Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter, today, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent.

Rashedul is a resident of Chhatkaraibari village at Dantbhanga union of the upazila. 

According to BGB sources, several Bangladeshis, including Rashedul, entered India through the border yesterday afternoon. Later that night, on their way back to Bangladesh, they were chased by members of BSF's patrolling team. While others were able to escape, Rashedul was captured by BSF members in the Indian territory. 

"We have contacted the concerned BSF camp after the matter came to light. BSF confirmed us about Rashedul Islam's detention. BGB has asked BSF to return him but BSF is yet to respond," Subedar Mizanur told The Daily Star today.
