Child killed in road accident in Barguna, 2 injured in another accident

A child was killed and three people were injured in two separate road accidents in Barguna's Bamna upazila today.
The victim was identified as Jannat (4), daughter of Hasib Bhuiyan of Sonakhali village, reports our correspondent quoting Md Shakil Al Mamun, physician of Bamna Hospital.
The accident happened at Hospital area on Bamna-Pathorghata highway at around 10:00am when a battery run auto-rickshaw tried to overtake an easy bike, said Md Habibur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bamna Police Station.
After overtaking, the vehicle with the girl and her mother, fell on the street and they sustained critical injuries, he added.
Locals rescued them and sent them to Bamna Hospital where the child succumbed to her injuries, the OC said. The mother of the child was referred to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical Hospital for better treatment.
Meanwhile, two others including a 10-year-old girl were injured in a head on collision between a motorcycle and an easy bike at a road, adjacent to Sultan Chowdhury house, under Bamna upazila of the district.
The duo are now undergoing treatment at two separate hospitals.
