CNG-run auto rickshaws and vehicles operating under ridesharing services will come under the 7-day restrictions imposed by the government, starting tomorrow.

However, private cars and rickshaws would not fall under the restrictions.

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority Chairman Nur Mohammad Mazumder said all engine-run vehicles operated under rental services, including CNG-run auto-rickshaws and vehicles under ridesharing services, will be considered "public transport" and would not be allowed on the streets from tomorrow.

He added that vehicles used for emergency services would not come under the restrictions.
