An elderly woman was dead after a motorcycle hit her in Dhaka’s Rayerbagh area this morning.
An elderly woman was dead after a motorcycle hit her in Dhaka's Rayerbagh area this morning.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. Police primarily suspected that the deceased was a beggar.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. The accident happened around 10:45am when the woman was crossing the road near Institute of Child and Mother Health in Matuil. She was hit by a motorcycle, leaving her inured.
The biker Md Razib took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in an auto-rickshaw. Doctors at DMCH declared her dead around 11:30am, said Bachchu Mia, in-charge of police outpost at the hospital.
Razib was taken in police custody, he said.
The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
