A fire that broke out at Bandura Bazar in Dhaka's Nawabganj upazila has been doused. The blaze gutted at least nine buses and several shops.

Four firefighting units extinguished the fire in three and a half hours after it started around 10:30am, said Lima Khanam, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room.

Abdul Haque, station officer of Dohar Fire Station, said at least nine buses and several shops were gutted in the fire.

A man sustained burn injures in the fire, he said.

Locals said the fire started at a shop in Bandura Bazar then spread to nearby areas, igniting the buses.

Fire officials, however, said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
